Ankle and Foot Pain
There are many ways to treat the ankle and foot. The correct approach is to provide a pain-free return to activities of daily living, work, or recreation.
Your ankle and foot evaluation must include an inspection and testing of the soft-tissues, joints, and muscles. These tissues require a variety of hands-on techniques and exercise approaches to restore function as efficiently as possible.
Specific exercises are often necessary to restore one’s nervous system function. Otherwise, ankle sprains and tendon inflammations may reoccur. These exercises restore the coordination of the joints and improve the tolerance of the soft-tissues to demanding, repetitive weight-bearing activities.
For joints that have been casted, splinted, or operated on with resulting joint stiffness, special manual therapy techniques are applied.

Headache and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Pain
The temporomandibular joint is the jaw joint. It can become a problem due to trauma, spinal, and dental problems. It can also result from physical development problems at a young age.
The jaw joint, and the cervical spine can be the source of headaches. A thorough evaluation performed by our physical therapists can determine the source of jaw and headache problems. An appropriate treatment plan can be established to resolve joint movement restrictions, and muscular tightness. Exercises can be applied in the clinic to improve blood flow to all tissues to reduce pain. When joints move too much, exercise can be very effective. Education will be provided to prevent future episodes. Home exercises are often times given to keep you pain-free.
Remember, headaches and jaw pain often occur together. However, many people without jaw problems do experience headaches. We can determine for you the correct type of treatment.
Let our physical therapists work with you. If you have jaw pain and or headaches, feel free to give us a call. We will be happy to answer your questions and guide you back to a pain-free lifestyle.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation
Are you prevented from performing the recreational or sports activities you love?
Have you undergone knee ligament, or shoulder surgery? We can put you back into your game.
Let our rehab team work with you. We can determine the underlying problem and set up a rehab program suited to your activity. We work closely with a variety of doctors to rehabilitate spinal and extremity injuries.
Our rehab approach is precise. Orthopedic manual therapy (a specialty of physical therapy whereby clinicians perform thorough evaluations and employ hands-on techniques to restore joint motion with exact techniques) is applied as necessary to athletes of all kinds.
Manual therapy employs exercise programs that are appropriate for each stage of recovery. The dosage of exercise (amount of resistance, repetitions, speed, and direction) is progressed as the joint and soft-tissue tolerance to stress improves. A scientific, yet individual approach to exercise proves to be the most successful. Athletic activities have specific demands that require specific exercise.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding sports injuries or rehab. We want to help you restore your athletic lifestyle.

Vestibular Rehabilitation
Do you have episodes of dizziness? You know, the kind of dizziness that occurs when you look up, down, or turn your head from side to side. Have you looked under a bed, and then returned to the upright position to experience a violent spinning sensation? Maybe you sat up in the morning from the bed to experience an immediate and severe dizziness? Some people have described difficulty flying, or riding in a car.
This is known medically as vertigo (dizziness). The vestibular system is the nervous system and inner ear mechanism responsible for balance. If your dizziness episodes are brief, it may be the type that can be treated in the physical therapy clinic. Many clients have experienced immediate, long-lasting relief. Feel free to call us for more information. We would be happy to answer any of your questions

Women’s / Men's Health
Physical therapy can offer a unique conservative approach for many women and men suffering from incontinence and a variety of other conditions such as pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, or bladder and bowel dysfunction. Incontinence is simply defined as an inability to control when you have to go to the bathroom. Following evaluation, a customized treatment program is planned to meet your specific needs.
Pelvic floor strength is vital to the support of your organs and entire pelvis. Oftentimes, Biofeedback is used to assist in instruction on the isolation of this muscle. Biofeedback includes the use of a sensor and a small computer that will tell you if you are using the right muscles. After one visit, many women and men are able to independently change their lives. Your bladder and bowel doesn’t need to control your life and you may be able to improve your quality of life.
Pelvic floor weakness is not the only important factor. The inability to relax these muscles can lead to many pain syndromes and other conditions such as constipation and physical therapy can be a vital part in retraining this entire region.
Twenty eight billion dollars is spent annually on pads, laundry, and caretaking for urinary incontinence and fourteen billion dollars is spent in medical costs. Constipation accounts for 2.5 million physician visits a year. Don’t wait any longer.
